My Name Is...
Matt, Mateo and/or Sexiest Man of the Year 2001. Those are the names I've been called. I moved from Chicago to LA in 2015 to pursue my acting dream. Not a lot of people do that so I feel good about my chances. I have an 8 year old son and then in 2016 my daughter was born. She's taken over my heart. Aaawww, how cheesy. There wasn't really a moment where my wife and I agreed that I'd be a Stay-At-Home Dad but it just transitioned that way. So one morning, my baby girl and I were watching Kathie Lee and Hoda with our glasses of Chardonnay and they did a segment on coding boot camps. That's the moment I realized I really wanted to get into coding, and that I didn't have to know about Dungeons and Dragons like I thought all coders did. I went to a coding boot camp at UCLA, finished, and am now trying to become a Level 17 High Elf Wizard...I mean senior developer. I'll get there. Like in 3 more years. That's my really short story.
I've been acting since high school. I love comedic acting but my acting teacher always believed that I'm better with serious roles. Whatever, he's delirious. I've dove extra work in Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, Empire, and others. Most recently I was cast on a web-series on Amazon Prime called Parked. Check it out!
Deep down, I've always wanted to be in the Olympics. In 2009, I was challenged by a co-worker to run a marathon and I accepted. My time took her by surprise and she got me hooked on running. I have too many big dreams but I still have time to train for 2020. I'm coming for you Ethiopians!
This isn't normally something one would list as a hobby/interest but I'm truly grateful for my two whipper snappers. Having two beings that I'm genetically connected to is something I wouldn't trade for the world. They keep me busy, they make me laugh, and they make me feel complete.

The user can enter the title of the movie and the app will call the Imdb api for info on the movie and then pass the ID number of the movie jto a second api to get the trailer information. After that the app will call the google books api for information on books that go with the movie.
